Hunger of Memory

For this Wednesday's blog post, you'll be responding to the Chapter 1 excerpt from Richard Rodriguez' Hunger of Memory. For this response, you'll begin by summarizing the excerpt. Then, based on our discussion of Claim/Purpose, Evidence, and Analysis relationships, you'll identify these in the reading:
  1. What is one of Rodriguez' Claims or Purposes for writing?
  2. What (kind of) Evidence does he use to support this?
  3. Does he explain how this Evidence supports his Claim/Purpose? In other words, does he have Analysis or does he ask the reader to do make the connections on their own?
Finally, offer your thoughts on the reading. Did you enjoy it? Why? Were there any confusing, funny, interesting bits? What were they?

Questions? Quibbles? Controversies?
